Battle of the Booze - Whiskey vs Wine
WHAT?!?
It’s really 2025 ALREADY?!?
The time off went by so very quickly for me. I cut back on all of my blogging (mostly because I was really fatigued, and I’m still fighting with the state regarding disability - they seem to think I work too many hours?)
At any rate - I’m back - at least doing the battles for now, and of course updating my cancer story blog.
Speaking of which - I have some really fantastic news to share. I recently celebrated (?) 10 years since my original cancer diagnosis. AND… in early December I learned that my PETscan came back 100% clear - the first time that has happened in the past 5 years! I’m not totally out of the woods yet, but I can see the meadow in the distance.
During my downtime, my domain (jinglejanglejungle.net) expired. I’m too broke/cheap to renew it, so I’ve let it revert to the blogspot address. If you were subscribed to my mailings, there’s a good chance I lost those subscriptions in the changeover. There’s a spot near the bottom of this post (under the comments) for you to enter your email address.
Okay, as promised, I’m starting the playoffs for this boozy battle series. May the best boozy song win in the end.
Chris Stapleton - Tennessee Whiskey
Santaferia - Red Red Wine
If you’re a blogger and want to join in the fun, please do so! There’s plenty of content for everyone to join in.
In the event that you are new here, or you have simply forgotten… Here’s a review of how a battle works:
Listen to each of the contenders. Try not to be persuaded by the videos. I like to close my eyes and let the music transport me. Keep an open mind and don’t be persuaded by the artist name.
Pick the contender that you prefer the most
Leave a comment with the name of the contender you have chosen. Feel free to expound upon your choice.
Visit the other bloggers that have battles taking place. Their battles are different from each other, so be sure to check them out.
Alright now… Cast your votes in the comments! Voting Results will be posted on the 8th of this month (or there abouts).
Happy New Year, Mary! And thanks for sharing that encouraging update on the health front. May 2025 see you getting better and better! ♥
ReplyDeleteAs for the battle, I'm going with Chris Stapleton, by a mile!
Glad to hear the positive outlook for you. Keep up the faith!
ReplyDeleteInteresting version of the wine song though I'm not in much of a wine mood today. And I'm already in L.A. where the video was shot. I'd rather be in Tennessee. And right now I'm more of a Tennessee Whiskey mode of thinking.
Give my vote to Chris Stapleton.

Happy New Year, dear Mary! That's a great report you shared. Praise His good name for bringing you through all of this mess thus far!
ReplyDeleteI'm giving my vote to Chris Stapleton. I like his voice and song better of the two!
I hope 2025 holds new promises of better days to come, darlin'! xo
VOTE = CHRIS STAPLETON
ReplyDeleteThis was a tough one! I like both of these songs. I practically had to hide my fingers behind my back, close my eyes, and do eenie-meenie-miney-mo! ~Ed.
Yay, you! Good news already and we're just getting started with the year. Love the song by Stapleton but in the end, viva Santaferia! Estan rico suave and they get my vote ;-)
ReplyDeleteI go for Chris Stapleton all the way. I never liked that 2nd song. My email is mysticstrasse@yahoo.ca
ReplyDeleteMMQE ~
ReplyDeleteTerrific new, health-wise! Keep up the healin'.
I liked both of these recordings. And the video for 'Red, Red Wine' was like a trip back to where I grew up. (I'm sure I said something similar when you used that video the first time.)
However, I like Chris Stapleton's 'Tennessee Whiskey' better than red, red wine. His voice reminds me of the flavor when I add a number of drops of liquid smoke to my Kentucky bourbon.
Judge Al Bondigas has a "rulin'" to add:
Rulin': "Red, Red Wine".
Me: "Why?"
Judge Al: "Wine not?"
