Weekly Song Challenge, Week 7
Did you have fun last week with the challenge? Let’s do it again!
How it works:
Each week, I will provide a list of 3 topics or themes. You come up with 1 song for each of the 3 themes.
Now, I know several of you like to plan ahead, so I’ve got a page prepared where you can find the upcoming themes..
This Week’s Song Challenge:
A Spice: Cinnamon Girl by Neil Young
A Type of Tree (or just ‘Tree’): Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree by Glenn Miller
A Unit of Measure: Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford
So what say you? Does this sound like a fun game? I hope you’ll join me. Post your links in the comments below, and I look forward to having you join me again next week!
Mary,
ReplyDeleteAll excellent songs. I did momentarily think of Glenn Miller's vintage classic and I even thought of Cinnamon Girl but decided to stretch my learning by exploring new possibilities. "Sixteen Tons" makes me think of grade school. That was still a popular tune in the mid-60s.
I'm joining the challenge today. You'll find my song picks in "Music, Q&A, & Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies on Curious as a Cathy!
I know the Neil Young song quite well even though his voice grates on me a bit. Glen Miller's song is very famous and I have heard it more than once. I love this version from Tennessee Ernie Ford who really had such a lovely baritone. I joined in the challenge today and you can find it here https://createdbybb.blogspot.com/2021/02/weekly-song-challenge.html#comment-form
ReplyDelete"Cinnamon Girl" is one of my favorites by Neil Young. Great pick for a spice.
