#YTR: Nov11
Time for the weekly game of YouTube Roulette.
How it works:
I click on a suggested video from YouTube and then make a playlist using the ‘Up Next’ songs.
Pretty simple, and the songs will almost always be different each and every time.
It’s a great way to learn about new artists and tunes, and refresh the memory of tunes from days gone by.
** Note: I switched up my own rules just a bit. If the up next song is by the same artist as the one before, It is skipped. This will help give more variety to the playlist I think. Also, if there are regional restrictions, that video is skipped as well.
Today’s Roulette Playlist:
Ivy Levan - Hot Damn
Marilyn Manson - The Dope Show
Filter - Hey Man, Nice Shot
Blind Melon - No Rain
4 Non Blondes - What’s Up
Aerosmith - Crazy
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven
Prince & The Revolution - Purple Rain
The Traveling Wilburys - End Of The Line
See you again soon! Share with me your thoughts about this playlist. If you’d like to join in this fun game of going down the YouTube rabbit hole - feel free! All I ask is that you share your link in the comments so that I and others can come visit.
Ironic how "End of the Line" WAS end of the line! I watched a great documentary on The Wilburys, including the formation of the group and the making of the first album. When they were recording "Dirty World", they were all in a semi-circle, singing parts in random order according to where they were in the circle. In all the takes they did it seemed the part of singing "Trembling Wilbury" always fell on Roy Orbison. In the filmed take it did again, and Jeff Lynne and then Roy ended up bent over, busting up in laughter. George Harrison and Tom Petty grinned widely. Naturally, Bob Dylon was stoic and straight-faced!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting YTR list. I like it!
