#4M: Oh, Brother! Part 2
It’s a new month, and we have a new musical conductor. Stacy from Stacy Uncorked gets to choose our themes this month. Today’s theme is Free Choice.
Last week, we talked about bands comprised of siblings, or siblings with friends. This is a continuation of that post.
Please enjoy this week’s playlist:
- Bay City Rollers, Scottish pop band, Andy (bass) and Derek (drums) Longmuir. Today’s Song: Saturday Night
- Beach Boys, an American rock band, Brian, Carl, and Dennis Wilson Today’s Song: Surfin’ USA
- The Bee Gees, an Australian harmonic "soft rock" act, Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb Today’s Song: How Deep Is Your Love
- The Bellamy Brothers, an American country-rock band, David and Howard. Today’s Song: Let Your Love Flow
- The B-52’s, an American new wave band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976. The original line-up consisted of Fred Schneider (vocals, percussion), Kate Pierson (vocals, keyboards), Cindy Wilson (vocals, percussion), Ricky Wilson (guitar), and Keith Strickland (drums, guitar, keyboards). Ricky Wilson died from AIDS-related illness in 1985, and Strickland switched from drums to lead guitar. Today’s Song: Love Shack
- The Black Crowes, American rock band, Chris and Rich Robinson Today’s Song: She Talks To Angels
- Blues Traveler, an American blues-rock band formed in Princeton, NJ. Chan (guitar) Kinchia's brother, Tad (bass), joined group in 1999. Today’s Song: Hook

Interesting tune by the Bay City Rollers... Saturday night, but those kids sure love it don't they! Now me I'm luvin the Beach Boys... holy cow are they young here! hahahaha So after the Beach Boys I couldn't get to the other songs for some reason. Bee Gees I love for sure... well, I just looked at the clock and holy cow it's late... or should I say early hahahaha Have a great week my friend, ya done a fantastic job! Woo Hoo! ROCK & ROLL IS THE BEST! You've definitely rocked the house today!
ReplyDeleteSome really classic music here today. The Beach Boys were among my favorites. Back in the day I actually liked them better than the Beatles, but that may have been just a little "Made in the USA" loyalty. Love the harmonies of the Bellamy Brothers and Blues Traveler just takes music to a whole new level. Well done. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteVery nice
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteBay City Rollers "Saturday Night" really got me moving on this M-O-N-D-A-Y morning! Your entire playlist is chockful of energy, toe-tapping, get to your feet groove. Thanks for bringing a fine A-list of mewsic to the dance party today, my dear. Stay safe and be well. Oh yes...have a boogietastic week! ;)
The Beach Boys! The first parentally-influenced band I like as kid. I remember my dad popping that cassette in the player.
ReplyDelete| also enjoyed the reminder about the Braxtons and the Breeders. Can't believe I forgot them from the 90s.
Great songs. So very nice. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, and a good way to use those leftovers!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say, nice seeing those oldies here. Had forgotten all about the Bay City Rollers. I never knew some of these (like the Black Crowes) were siblings. But then I got to the Brothers Osborne "It Ain't My Fault" (new act for me) and you saved the best for last. I honestly didn't know if I should laugh or cry but it sure made me dance. (Side note, "Obama's" sneakers were so cool).
