#4M: Over The Moon
It’s a new month, and we have a new musical conductor. Alana from Ramblin with AM gets to choose our themes this month. Today’s theme is Songs about or mentioning the Moon
Did you know? On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 became the first manned spacecraft to land on the Moon. I’m guessing this was the inspiration behind selecting today’s theme :)
In honor of this week’s theme, I’ve selected 10 Songs that are about or mention the Moon.
Please enjoy this week’s playlist:
- Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon
- Iron Maiden - Moonchild
- Cat Stevens - Moon Shadow
- Van Morrison - Moondance
- Neil Young - Harvest Moon
- Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising
- Thin Lizzy - Dancing In The Moonlight
- The Doors - Moonlight Drive
- Echo & The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
- R.E.M. - Man On the Moon
Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop, hosted by X-Mas Dolly, and co-hosted by Stacy Uncorked, Curious as a Cathy. , and Ramblin with AM. Be sure to stop by the hosts and visit the other participants. If you have a MUSIC* post, feel free to join in the fun! *sorry non-music posts are not permitted in this blog hop.
Mary,
ReplyDeleteFabulous 'Moon' song title playlist but then I knew it would be. ;) We matched up with Bad Moon Rising but I decided to use a cover artist instead just to make it interesting. Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor, Sweetie. Stay safe, be well, and have a boogietastic week!
Wow! I had completely forgotten about Neil Young and Harvest Moon. I had one of his albums back in the day and I think I wore the grooves out of that vinyl. Thanks for the memories. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteGreat playlist. We picked a lot of the same songs.
ReplyDeleteLots of good picks here! I forgot about "Moonshadow," or maybe I heard it so many times I just blocked it out...
ReplyDelete"Walking on the Moon" by the Police!
ReplyDeleteGiant steps are what you take,
Walking on the moon;
I hope my leg don't break,
Walking on the moon....
Wonderful selection of songs here. Thanks for sharing them. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteLove "Moondance" and "Dancing in the Moonlight."
ReplyDeleteJanet’s Smiles
Yeah! Liked that song list, Marie, absolutely fabulous! Swinging Pawkisses for a musical week aheadπΎπ½π
ReplyDeleteThis playlist is excellent, Mary. π€π "Fly Me To The Moon" came to mind first, but Frank Sinatra would be in strange company with these others! π As for the moon landing, I remember watching it in my grandmother's kitchen in Germany, at age 14. it was a month before we moved back to Canada.
