#4M: YouTube Roulette August Edition
Welcome back for Monday’s Music Moves Me (aka #4M)
We’re under the direction of our co-host/conductor for this month - John Holton!
Today’s theme is ‘Free Choice’ so I thought this would be a good time for another round of YouTube Roulette.
I’m thinking of switching up the game just a little. Instead of going with the first five music videos and the ‘Up Next’ on those videos, I’ve decided for this edition I will use the first two music videos recommended to my by YouTube and the four ‘Up Next’ videos following those.
We start off with The Monkees - Last Train to Clarksville
Rod Stewart & The Faces - Maggie May
Ringo Starr, Burton Cummings, Joe Walsh, et al - No Time
Bachman Cummings - You Aint Seen Nothing Yet (This one is a real GEM!)
Bee Gees - Three Song Medley
The next set - The Kinks - Sunny Afternoon
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - You Wreck Me
The Traveling Wilburys - Handle With Care
Dobie Gray - Drift Away
Buffalo Springfield - For What It’s Worth
Not a bad set list for just being random!
Alright now, you’ve heard me tease about #RocktoberMusicFest2019 and now I have the details for you! In case you missed the announcement post - you can find those details HERE
I hope that you will join me in this month long event!
Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop, hosted by X-Mas Dolly, and co-hosted by JAmerican Spice, Stacy Uncorked, Curious as a Cathy. , and Ramblin with AM. Mary,
ReplyDeleteYour playlist is very nice. Two of my favorites here this morning are 'No Time' and 'Drift Away'. It's been awhile since I've heard either so it was a nice treat to tune into these again after a long time. Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor. Have a boogietastic week, my dear!
Thanks, Cathy!
DeleteI'm really liking this YT Roulette game. I might just do it again on the next free choice day.
Mary
Mary, your playlist is incredible. Loving every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSuper cool playlist. Love how you did it. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patrick!
DeleteIt really is a lot of fun to see what YT comes up with as suggestions.
I love The Monkees and was watching their TV show last week. Great list you showcased here
ReplyDeleteThanks, Birgit!
DeleteThe Monkees are pretty great. I remember watching their show when it originally aired. I was still a bit young to 'totally get it' but I still liked the show.
Hell of a set here! Some real goodies, like "No Time," "Drift Away," and especially "Handle with care."
ReplyDeleteThanks, John!
DeleteI was especially pleased at the Bachman & Cummings - where they slowed the song down and put an entirely different spin on it.
Well, there you go. I'm not a big Monkees fan, but I do love Ringo Starr, Burton Cummings, Joe Walsh a favorite of mine... No time... awesome tune! Thanks girlfriend I had a great time and thanks for the dance! Woo Hoo!
ReplyDeleteAww you had me at The Monkees. I love them so! I saw them in concert!
ReplyDeleteGreat selections.

your set Rocks the House,as David Esses Says ROCK ON!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was Burton Cummings, etal. doing "No Time" with Ringo drumming and several all star guitar players. That was nice. Some old favorites here, especially Drift Away, which I haven't heard in a long time. A nice set for a weekend afternoon.
