A quick review of what we’re doing here:

From Dictionary.com:
Electric Light Orchestra “Mr Blue Sky”
Dr Hook “Baby Makes Her Blue Jeans Talk”
Bob Seger “Blue Monday”
And that’s my 3 Blues for the day. Let’s see what Blue songs you come up with. Share in the comments.

I love Bob Seger and Road House! ♥ Another great song is Behind Blue Eyes, by The Who. Speaking of The Who, they did a fabulous cover of Summertime Blues.
ReplyDeleteThose are some real greats!
DeleteI love that ELO song. It always reminds me of the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind because it was in the movie trailer. Nice idea for a blog theme!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lacey!
DeleteIt's one of my favorite ELO songs as well.
First thing that comes to mind is the Blue Danube Waltz :)
ReplyDeleteHappy A to Z!
The Multicolored Diary
Ha Ha! Haven't heard Blue Danube Waltz in a very long time. Now I'm going to look it up just for nostalgia sake.
DeleteThe first song that I thought of was "I'm blue da du dee ba" I'm not sure the exact title but it was very popular when I was in middle school is the early 2000's haha!

I think it's just called 'Blue' by Eiffel 65. Fun song!
DeleteYes, that's what I was thinking about too! That + Behind blue eyes (the Limp Bizkit version).
DeleteYou might also like Blue day, blue night by Foreigners.
I can think of "I'm Blue (da ba dee)" and "Blue Suede Shoes"
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Two really good choices!
DeleteI created a playlist for MMMM that had five songs with "blue" in the title: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSyZ5mLbrD9OsJ-zX9Uvn0uIoO7k-caaO
ReplyDeleteI thought it was bigger, because there are a lot of "blue" songs...
why does this not surprise me? I think I have a few blue playlists from the various posts in the past. I thought about doing playlists this year, but decided against it at the last minute.
Deletehow about BLUE SKIES and BLUE DANUBE WALTZ and BLUE SUEDE SHOES?
ReplyDelete:)
Joy at The Joyous Living
three good songs!
DeleteGiven this is April and we celebrate Earth Day this month, I'll go with Barenaked Ladies Our Blue Dot.
ReplyDeleteHa! Love the Barenaked Ladies. They are hilarious. I've featured them a few times.
DeleteI love ELO and love this song. I had to just look at Sam Elliott for a bit (hubba Hubba). Blue Skies, Blue Bayou sung by Linda Ronstadt. Blue Velvet, Blues in the Night sung by Judy garland and, why not, Over the Rainbow..(where skies are blue)
ReplyDeleteI was going to comment on the songs you selected, but got hung up on Sam Elliott for a bit :) that's a nice distraction!
DeleteExcellent choices for songs as well. Love it!
Mary,
ReplyDelete'Mr. Blue Sky' is supposed to show today which I'm very much looking forward, too. I can't remember how it was but in recent months I watched 'Baby Makes Her Blue Jeans Talk' and loved it! Dr. Hook was having fun, all the guys in the video were having, and more importantly the girl was having fun. She wasn't insulted but flattered by the attention and rightfully so. 'Blue Monday' is a song I haven't heard too much and it almost didn't ring a bell but after bouncing around in my brain, it went bling! Brilliant 'Blue' song picks and interesting tidbit of it's informal use to describe pornographic content. That's totally new-to-me! Thanks for visiting yesterday, my friend. Happy A2Zing!
Oh, the Blogger change! Yikes, I totally forgot and didn't leave a crumb back to my site for anyone looking for me. Anyone looking to find a way back to me, please join me in my Little Mermaid Art Sketch series with the Bishop. TTFN!
DeleteHaHa! I hate it when I forget to include my link as well.. Thanks so much for stopping in!
Delete~Mary
I love Mr. Blue Sky.I think I saw the part of the movie that featured the song. I'm not Marvel-crazy like my kids, but they showed me this one. Some little guy who I think is called Groot? Anyway he looks like a cgi tree piece of animated bark. He's adorable! Good song.

Hi Heather!
DeleteMr Blue Sky has been around for a long time. I'm grateful for movies that feature good songs, though. Especially those that we enjoyed growing up and now the kids can enjoy them as well.
Hi Mary!
ReplyDeleteRoadhouse? Be still my heart ;-) I've seen the movie several times and not once paid attention to the song - ha! I'll remember it now.
Hmm, I'm thinking "Silver, BLUE, and Gold" by Bad Company or "Blue on Black" by Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
ooh Kenny Wayne Shepherd! I haven't listened to him in awhile. Good one!
DeleteThe first song to pop into my head was "Blue" by Eifel65, but that's been used a lot in the comments.
ReplyDeleteSo...
"Blue Moon" by Billie Holiday (though I'm thinking of the "Grease" version).
"Blue American" by Placebo.
"Blue Christmas" by Lady Antebellum.
I'm also thinking "Summertime Blues" by Rush (but more like I heard it in "American Shaolin Monk"). LOL. Now I want to watch that movie again :-)
