#RocktoberMusicFest : Stealers Wheel - Stuck In the Middle With You
Humpity Hump Hump. Humpity Hump Hump. Look at this week go…. Don’t worry. I know it’s still Rocktober, and still far too early for references to Christmas tunes. By this time next week, all the good little ghouls and boys will be anxiously pestering their parents to start their sugar high for the rest of the season.
Back in 1972, Scotland schoolyard friends Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty put together a band known as ‘Stealers Wheel’. The band lasted until 1975. In 2008, Gerry Rafferty reformed the band (without Joe) and started writing new material, and re-recording their older stuff. There were no plans to tour, and by the end of that year, the band had split up again. In 2011, Gerry Rafferty died from liver failure.
Well.. that’s kind of a depressing story, isn’t it?
If I have to be stuck here in the middle of this week, there’s no one else that I’d rather be stuck with than you…

Mary,
ReplyDeleteFurtastic song choice! I'm happy to be stuck in the middle with you, too. LOL! Thanks for hosting the song-a-day fun all month long, my friend. You rock!
Great song! Gerry Rafferty is a fantastic singer.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally grooving right now, lol. This is one of the best examples of songs that always sound better as the original. I never cared for Sheryl Crow's cover of this song. Thanks for the happy jam! :)
ReplyDeleteI love you page! I always smile...Thank you!
