Mid-February Battle of the Bands
The middle of the month has arrived and that means it is time again for Battle of the Bands!
It’s still the month of LOVE, so I am using a song that fits in with the theme.
I’ve had this earworm stuck in my head for the past few weeks. They say that the best way to get rid of the earworm is to share it with others, and then quickly replace it with something new.
Wikipedia tells us this about the song:
I have listened to many many covers of this song. I believe I have found two worthy contenders for you to consider. I know who my favorite is, but which will be yours?
Contender One: Chris Stapleton
Contender Two: Whiskey Lane
As usual, cast your vote for your favorite of the two in the comments below. Voting will remain open until Sunday, Feb 25 @ 3pm EST. Results will be posted on Monday Feb 26.
Now, if you’ll excuse me - I’m going to go pour myself a Jack and Coke and grab my favorite guy and dance this one out.
This post is part of a blog hop. It would be splendid if you visited the other participants and gave them support as well. You can find a current list on Stephen’s blog (you can also request to join the battle of the bands blog hop there as well - we'd LOVE to have you join in the fun!).

Wikipedia tells us this about the song:
"Tennessee Whiskey" is the title of a country song written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. It was originally recorded by American country music artist David Allan Coe for his album of the same name Tennessee Whiskey, whose version peaked at number 77 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1981. George Jones' 1983 version of the song was included on his album Shine On, and reached number 2 on the Hot Country Singles chart. The song has been covered by several artists, including Chris Stapleton, whose version was performed at the Country Music Association Awards with Justin Timberlake, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

I vote for Whiskey Lane! It's my first time to hear this song and it sounds so sexy!
ReplyDeleteI found all of the band members extremely hot! whyyyyyyyyyy!
Thanks, Karla!
DeleteAppreciate you stopping in to cast a vote. Be sure to visit again, as we do these battles twice a month.
~Mary
I vote Chris Stapleton. Never heard the song until now. Chris Stapleton voice give it the old time country feel. Whiskey Lane did a great job, but i just dont feel their sound matches with the song very well.
ReplyDeleteHi Brittany!
DeleteI like it when I am not familiar with the song or the artists. It gives everyone an even battle field. Thanks for stopping by!
~Mary
i love whiskey lane ..
ReplyDeleteIts my first time using the word ear worm.
Now i can't get it out!
Thank you Pija!
DeleteUh Oh,... did that ear worm escape from me and get to you? :) Enjoy it while it's there.
~Mary
I don't recall ever hearing this song. It's a good one.
ReplyDeleteI liked the power and depth of the Stapleton version--so much feeling to it. Nothing really wrong with the Whiskey Lane version, but I just liked Chris Stapleton's sound better.
Lee
Tossing It Out
Lee,
DeleteThis was one that was in my recommended tunes on YouTube. I was hooked from the beginning. Glad I could share it with you as well.
~Mary
Good song, MMQE!
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard this before, and I always like it when some Country turns up in BOTB.
Despite the fact that my blog profile photo shows me swilling Jack Daniel's at the Statue Of Liberty, in truth, my favorite Tennessee Whiskey was actually [Link> THIS.
Sadly, however, "cornbread and ice tea's took the place of pills and ninety proof". Well, no, I never really did pills... except Extra Strength Excedrin on the mornings after the nights before.
Hmmm.... Isn't it Mescal that comes with ear worms, not Whiskey?
Even though I found all of the band members extremely hot, I'm voting for CHRIS STAPLETON over Whiskey Lane. I liked his voice better'n the voice of Whiskey Lane's vocalist. And I also really dug that raw guitar sound played in the lower register. That was pretty masculine sounding stuffs.
Unless my math sucks (hee!-hee!-hee!... a first time for everything), I believe my vote ties this Battle up at three votes apiece. Great start for this contest, Mary! I think you got yase'f a winner here.
I guess I better go to bed now before I find myself waking up under a pool table in a pool of Tennessee Whiskey with a STD and pieces of ear worm stuck between my teeth. (...A first time for everything.:^)

STMcC Presents 'Battle Of The Bands'
Hey there Stephen!
DeleteI've not sampled your favorite. I have THIS relaxing in my freezer. At least I think I still have some left. It's been one of those kind of weeks.
A friend stopped by for a visit, and I had mentioned previously that my desk seemed a little 'unstable'. so we cleared off the desk....
and discovered that I had put the legs on backward. Yup, a true blonde moment. While we were righting my wrong, I managed to smack myself in the forehead with the metal top of the desk. Hurt like a mutha... but funny as hell. It was like instant karma from the desk.
At least the desk is fixed now.
I found all of the band members extremely hot
Sure glad that I know full well you are a CH, otherwise I'd bring attention to my raised eyebrow.
Yer maths is good. It is a tied battle currently, but it's still early in the game.
Get some sleep, and watch out for those worms with STDs.
~Marey
>>... I have THIS relaxing in my freezer.
DeleteHa! Was that a case of life imitating BOTB or BOTB imitating life?
>>... Sure glad that I know full well you are a CH
:o) You stole a page right out of MY playbook with that video link. (Ain't it great? One of the best unknown movie scenes ever. There's a bit more to it, though. The knucklehead who posted it at YouTube cut it off too soon.)
This may be the biggest BOTB turnout of all time. I'm just glad I'm not the person who has to count up all those votes. My math being what it is, I'd get it wrong for sure.

STMcC Presents 'Battle Of The Bands'
I'm just glad I'm not the person who has to count up all those votes.
DeleteLucky for me, I tally as I go - otherwise Jack and I would run out of fingers and toes trying to count. You challenged me to bring in more voters, and I accepted that challenge. This has been a lot of fun! I just hope they took a moment to visit the others as well.
~Mary
Thanks, Wen!
ReplyDeleteThis is turning out to be quite the battle. I can't wait to see what the final outcome will be. Appreciate you stopping by to cast a vote.
~Mary
Whiskey lane seems to strike a cord with me. I enjoy listening to the song. Definitely going to be listening to this song a couple more times.
ReplyDeleteHi Leo!
DeleteGlad that my ear worm has made it's way to you. I've listened to this song every day for the past week or so. Just can't get enough of it.
Thanks for stopping in!
~Mary
I have never heard either of these songs before. I am familiar with Chris Stapleton but not Whiskey Lane. My vote is for Whiskey Lane.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose!
DeleteWhiskey Lane was a new artist for me as well. I kind of like the idea that a group with their name is singing about Whiskey. Thanks for stopping by.
~Mary
Mary,
ReplyDeleteI stumbled on this song/artist just this week upon YouTube's recommendation. I by far preferred Chris Stapleton to Whisky Lane with an emphasis on Chris' vocals being the hugest deciding factor. Okay, maybe it's the cowboy hat, too. Who can get behind a country band singing about Tennessee Whisky wearing ball caps anyhow? lol Well...you know I don't drink. That a big ole YUCK! However, give me a cowboy hat and I'll wear it. :) I'd probably look stupid in it but I'd still put it on. I'm not a hat wearer. Anyhow, give my vote to CHRIS STAPLETON! Thanks for visiting & voting!
Hi Cathy!
DeleteYouTube recommendation's have been pretty good to me lately. Have been introduced to quite a few new to me artists. Some aren't too bad. I agree with you about ball caps vs cowboy hats. Although, I know plenty of farm boys who wear ball caps and look pretty darn good!
Thanks for stopping by!
~Mary
I prefer Chris Stapleton's cover to Whiskey Lane's, because I like his voice better. WL's cover is a cover of Chris's, anyway, so I'll go with the original. Plus, WL are all sitting around drinkin' beer instead of whiskey...
ReplyDeleteHi John
DeleteThe original original was technically David Allen Coe. I think there's a lot of irony in the beer drinkers singing about whiskey. Thanks for stopping by to cast your vote. Your vote ties everything up again :)
~Mary
Whiskey Lane. Feels more real and I prefer the vocals in that version.
ReplyDeleteHey there Wozza!
DeleteThanks for your vote. I can actually get behind both versions, and depending on the time or day or mood could go with either one.
~Mary
I love the song Whiskey Lane! Of the two version, my favourite was the Chris Stapelton version. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Emily!
DeleteHe does have a great voice, doesn't he? I sure do appreciate you stopping in to cast your vote. Lots of votes makes the battles more fun :)
~Mary
I vote for Chris Stapleton because I prefer his vocals over the other guy.
ReplyDeleteHi Birgit!
DeleteHe does have that voice thing going for him. He's bit cowboyish while the others are a bit more smooth. This is turning out to be a really nice battle. Thanks for stopping in.
~Mary
I vote #1, I just love his vocals! I may just end up with an earworm after casting my vote today, ha!
ReplyDeletehaha!
DeleteEarworms aren't all that bad. Sometimes having a song stuck in your head puts a spring in your step.
~Mary
I vote Whiskey Lane, there's just something about that cover
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alice!
DeleteI think it's a great cover as well. Appreciate you stopping by to cast a vote. Watch for the results to be posted on the 26th.
~Mary
I haven't heard of these songs before. I think I'll go with #2. It seemed more catchy to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've got your vote counted.
Delete~Mary
I've never heard of either artist, nor have I heard of the song before, but Whiskey Lane did a really good job and his style is a little more my taste since he made it a little more bluesy. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kaitlyn!
DeleteI do like that bluesy feel as well. Thanks for stopping in to cast your vote :)
~Mary
I have to admit I've not heard of either of these before, but I think I am going to have to check out some more. On first listen though I think it has to be Whiskey Lane.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah-Louise!
DeleteSometimes I have to give songs multiple listens before casting my vote. I usually play them in the background so I'm not influenced by the videos. Appreciate you stopping by.
~Mary
Hmm I'll go with Chris Stapleton
ReplyDeleteHey there April!
DeleteGlad that you could stop by. Chris appreciates your vote. This is definitely a tight race so far.
~Mary
I have to admit that I had never heard of Chris Stapleton until I head Justin Timberlakes song, 'Say Smething' and Chris is a featured artist. I love his voice!
ReplyDeleteHi Susana!
DeleteMany times I hear a song that I like, but won't have any idea who sings it. I agree that without Justin Timberlake, I probably wouldn't know who Chris Stapleton was either.
~Mary
Chris Stapleton has my vote! I love his style because it's more bluesy than country.
ReplyDeleteHi Ann!
DeleteYour vote puts Chris in the lead. Can he hold on? This battle sure has been a lot of fun.
~Mary
I have to be honest I am not a country music fan and have not heard of either of these lol I watched the videos since I wasn't educated on either artist and I definitely favored Chris Stapleton more! I love his style more than the other guy!
ReplyDeleteHey there!
DeleteIt's okay to not be a country music fan. I'm typically not a fan of the newer artists myself. But every once in awhile, a good one sneaks out. Thanks for dropping by to cast a vote!
~Mary
This is such a great song and hadn't heard it in such a long time. I love them both do I truly have to choose? Well since you insist :D I like Whiskey Lane's version the best.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Anne!
DeleteThis is really a great song. I swear I've listened to it multiple times a day for the past 2 weeks. Time for it to vacate so I can replace it with something else.
~Mary
My vote is Chris Stapleton. He is so talented and I absolutely LOVE that song.
ReplyDeleteHi Amber!
DeleteChris does have an amazing sound. The song is one that will stick with you for awhile. I may give it another listen just because I enjoy it so much.
~Mary
I love it when bands do a cover but add their own flavor to the song. Number Two is my choice for this competition!
ReplyDeleteHI Alison!
DeleteI agree 100%. So many covers are out there, but they are either of poor quality or plain ol' boring. Their endorsement of Budweiser at the very end of the song makes me laugh. Not sure why. Thanks for stopping in to cast a vote!
~Mary
Damn Girl, you picked two great versions! The song is new to me and I thank you for the introduction. This is definitely earworm material!
ReplyDeleteI like both versions. I got a giggle out of Whiskey Lane ending their song by saying "Budweiser". Lol. I like the Whiskey Lane vocals and their sound is very good but I'm going to go with Chris Stapleton. I liked his voice better.
Though both songs had me swaying... :)
Excellent battle. This song is definitely going to be a new favorite with me...
Michele at Angels Bark
Michele-girl,
DeleteI have listened to this song so many times the past few weeks, you'd think I was obsessed or something. And it's not just because of Mr Tall, dark, and Handsome, either. YouTube did me right by putting this in my recommended videos. This is turning out to be such a tight horserace. Makes me proud!
~Mary
And you should be proud! Excellent battle.
DeleteHey, I've heard you mention that YouTube provides recommended videos for you. How does one go about setting that up so that YouTube provides recommended videos? Is it based on the videos you've visited in the past or how does that work? Is it just new videos that they recommend to everyone in the YouTube Universe or are they specifically tailored to each person who signs up to receive recommendations? Clearly I'm clueless about it...
Thanks in advance.
It just happens automatic for me on YouTube. click on the Home page for YouTube and it will list different things. Recommended, Recently Uploaded, Mixes, some of the channels you subscribed to, etc. I don't think I enabled anything for it to recommend. It is based on what you have previously viewed.
DeleteI like both versions but if I have to choose one over the other I have to go with Whiskey Lanes
ReplyDeleteHi Tina!
DeleteThank you so much for stopping in to cast a vote in this battle. I'm really glad to see that you enjoyed both versions but were able to pick a favorite.
~Mary
I’m going with contender #2, Whiskey lane.... they have a sexy vibe and I love it!
ReplyDeleteHi KC!
DeleteWhiskey Lane do have quite the sexy vibe. I'd let the lead singer sing the phone book to me any day of the week. Thanks for stopping by!
~Mary
Whiskey lane sounds pretty good! Both of those songs seem to be up my husband's alley!
ReplyDeleteHi Britney!
DeleteI do believe this is one of my newest favorite songs. Thanks so much for stopping by to cast your vote.
~Mary
First time hearing this song and I would have to say Whiskey Lane! They did an amazing job and I loved how authentic it felt while listening to them.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Elizabeth

Hi there Elizabeth!
DeleteThey really know how to pull you in to their song, huh? Thanks for stopping by! Really appreciate it.
~Mary
I'm not much of a country music fan but I would have pick out Whiskey Lane.
ReplyDeleteHi Luci!
DeleteAwww. You don't have to be a fan of the genre to pick a favorite between two songs. I believe I'll be using a different genre in my next battle on March 1. I hope you'll stop by and visit then, too.
~Mary
Chris gets my vote. Nice choice in drink.
ReplyDeleteHey there Mike!
DeleteGlad that you liked it. I do enjoy a smooth drink every now and then as well.
~Mary
Never heard of both before but I’ll go for Whiskey Lane. I love their beats!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Emmanuel!
DeleteAppreciate you taking the time to stop in to vote.
~Mary
Never heard of this song before but Chris's is my favorite. One thing I did notice about the contender's is they were more clear... I could easily hear the words. Thanks for the introduction.... Just saved it to my playlist! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Msddah!
DeleteI think you are right about Whiskey Lane. vocals are more clear. Thanks for stopping in.
~Mary
I vote Whiskey Lane too, I just really loved their version that little bit more. Chris did a great job too though!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elizabeth!
DeleteI agree, I think both did a really great job. Will be interesting to see who wins this race.
~Mary
Two versions? Who knew? Like many, I’ve never heard this song before either...my vote is Whiskey Lane. 🦋 xo
ReplyDeleteHi Evelyn!
DeleteJust doing a simple search in YouTube brought up so many covers of this song. I think I've picked out two of the better ones. Thanks for the vote!
~Mary
This is my first time hearing this song and it is really great I vote for whiskey lane ..
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole!
DeleteI hadn't heard of it myself until just recently. Now it's in my daily playlist. I just love the song.
~Mary
Wow there are two version of the song. Lets go with Whiskey Lane!
ReplyDeleteHi Kiwi!
DeleteThanks for the vote! Turning out to be quite the battle.
~Mary
I am loving the Tennessee Whisky song, I do love a bit of old country music, to get my feet tapping into a weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Lindsey
DeleteThanks for stopping by! I'm really liking the song as well. Do you have a vote for your favorite of the contenders?
~Mary
I don't have the best ear for country music, but they're both good versions IMO! Ahh how can you decide?! x
ReplyDeleteHi Megan!
DeleteSometimes I have to listen more than once to make a decision on who to vote for. And sometimes when it's just too close to tell, I close my eyes and pick one. Thanks for stopping in.
~Mary
I liked the Stapleton version--so much feeling to it. Nothing really wrong with the Whiskey Lane version, but I just liked Chris Stapleton's sound better.
ReplyDeleteThere are no wrong answers here, just a lot of fun. Thanks for stopping in to cast your vote.
Delete~Mary
While I think all versions have their own great interpretation that we'd all like, Chris just makes justice with it completely. This is the first time I've listened to the others but I hear what I need and can still tell what's best.
ReplyDeleteHi Esme!
DeleteSometimes it's hearing the others that makes one appreciate another even more. I'm glad that you are open to hearing both version. Thanks for the vote!
~Mary
Oh noooo... I'm going to have this stuck in my head for the rest of my life! lol... not really but this is an interestingly catchy song
ReplyDeletehahaha! Thanks Elisha!
DeleteDo you have a favorite of the two versions? This song has been stuck in my head for weeks now. It replaced a sappy pop tune, so I'm not complainin'
~Mary
I think #1 is definitely the one!
ReplyDeleteHi Corina!
DeleteHe does do a really good job on this cover, doesn't he? This is one battle where both contestants are doing an excellent job to fight for the title. Thanks for stopping by!
~Mary
Wow! It's my first time to comment on this kind of music related one, I love to hear those two contenders. The tennessee whiskey song is pretty cool. I would go for the classic Chris his country voice is so admirable though the Whiskey Lane has a touch of modern. love them both!
ReplyDeleteHI Alexi!
DeleteI really do appreciate you stopping in to cast your vote. This is one heated battle. I think it may come down to the last minute for decision of who will win.
~Mary
Haven't heard them before, but will go with the first one! <3 Also love the cartoon at the end - really cheered me up!
ReplyDelete:) I'm glad that I could make your day. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to come back later to catch the results.
Delete~Mary
Wow! 91 comments? Congratulations, Mary; that's a lot of followers! ☺ I missed the BOTB deadline, but wanted to check out the others, anyway. I have to say, Whiskey Lane's vocals sest my teeth on edge. Please give my vote to Chris Stapleton.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie!
DeleteOne thing I've learned doing these battles - a day or two off the mark isn't going to torpedo the world. You can and should still do a battle. What are your thoughts on Metallica's Nobel Prize?
~Mary
I've lost the will to blog, Mary, at least for the time being. Only did the 40 questions thing out of a feeling of obligation. As you probably know, I LOVE Metallica! Finally got to see them live last year with over 50,000 other people. What a fantastic experience! The show was amazing in every respect and they were so thrilled with the reception they got, they lingered on stage long after the concert was finished, just interacting with the fans. ♥♥ I think it's grand they are being honoured for their contribution to music. The band will donate the money to its "All Within My Hands" organization, which aids communities in need with workforce education, food-bank donations and other local services. They make donations to food banks in every city they visit while on tour.
DeleteSorry about the lost will to blog, but I do understand where you are coming from. I took the survey for the AtoZ, and mentioned that the rules need to be changed somewhat. We are losing far too many good bloggers to burnout - which seems to be amplified immediately after the challenge. Hopefully, in time, you'll get your inspiration and drive back. But be careful - I'll tell you the same thing I told Jeffrey Scott and Michele - taking a break from blogging is very similar to not going to church. The longer you stay away, the easier it is to not come back.
DeleteWell I don't do church, never have, but since I pay for the priviledge of owning a website with a blog, I don't plan on letting it go to waste entirely. It's my intention to concentrate more on photography, travelogues and actual writing, but not be bound by various deadlines. I may go back to a free platform when the contract is up. We'll see how it goes. There's just too much going on for me offline, including planning the logisitics for a month-long trip to Europe we'll be taking in Sept. I'll still visit my blogging friends, regardless, albeit not as frequently.
DeleteSo many great memories with this song. First, Jack and Coke is my brother's favorite drink. At Christmas time when he and my sister-in-law are home from Austin, it warms my heart to see the bottle of Jack Daniel's on the countertop because I know he's there. I have to tell you though, this year over the holidays, my Dad has a bottle of homemade moonshine and man, oh man, that'll put hair on your chest! Whew! ps: I live version #1 (Chris Stapleton's) above.
ReplyDeleteOh Good ol' Moonshine. Reminds me of the days of Everclear (the drink, not the band). I'll keep my razor handy and try a sample. ;)
Delete~Mary
First time hearing this song! It is hard choosing one on first listen. I think I would need to listen to both a couple more times for me to make a decision.
ReplyDeleteListen multiple times. I always do. Hope you remember to come back and vote.
Delete~Mary
I am a Tennessee whiskey fan so this is cool besides the sounds are also nice. My vote goes for both!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Adriana!
DeleteA vote for both is better than a vote for neither ;)
~Mary
lol on the comic at the bottom. I get tunes stuck in my head all of the time! I vote for Chris though I like them both!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rosey!
DeleteI get earworms all the time. Sometimes I just need to share them to get rid of them.
~Mary
I'll have to listen to these when I get a chance. I love Country music but I've never heard this song before. Unfortunately the sound doesn't work on my laptop so I'll get them up on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteAmi xxx
Thanks Ami!
DeleteHope that you are able to come back and listen and vote.
~Mary
I have never heard any of it . But I think I like whiskey lane more . Its just the sound of it is really makes me move. Nice song!
ReplyDeleteHi Kartika!
DeleteI like the bluesy sound of Whiskey Lane as well. Thanks for stopping by!
~Mary
First time listening to both songs. Not my typical genre but I like it nonetheless. My preference might go for Chris Stapleton on this one though
ReplyDeleteHi there!
DeleteIt's not my typical genre either. When push comes to shove, I'm a classic rock gal all the way - but I do like to dabble in the other genres as well in attempts to keep me well rounded.
~Mary
I love Whiskey Lane. they have very unique and wonderful sound. i love them
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOne might even go as far as to say they are 'smooth as Tennessee Whiskey' :)
Thanks for dropping by!
~Mary
I love hearing about new music. I used to be so into music when I was young, and now I'm totally out of the loop.
ReplyDeleteHI Nicole
DeleteI like learning new things as well. Did you happen to like one more than the other? Just curious...
~Mary
Not normally the type of music I listen to, but they're both pretty good. Thanks for the introduction!
ReplyDeleteHi Scott
DeleteI'm glad that I could introduce something new to you. And perhaps next time you'll cast a vote for one of the contenders in the battle ;)
~Mary
I’m not much of a country music fan but this man’s voice sounds lovely. Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteMamainHeels
DeleteWhich Man? There are two different artists here. You comment is confusing.
I love hearing new songs and learning their origins. It's amazing the inspiration that musicians have when they are producing music.
ReplyDeleteTough Cookie Mommy
DeleteI'm glad that you like hearing new songs and learning, but I am wondering if you read the post. You comment makes me lean toward "No, you did not".
My first time hearing this song and I have to say it is going to be the Whiskey Lane for me too. Who's winning?
ReplyDeleteHi there Kweni!
DeleteThanks for the vote. It is really a super tight race right now, only one or two votes separate.
~Mary
The Jack and Coke always sounds like a good thing to me. And as far as covers go, Chris Stapleton does do an extra one. Although Whiskey Lane's one isn't half bad either.
ReplyDeleteI have to add Coke to my Jack, because apparently when I drink it straight, I make oddball comments on other people's posts and barely spell my own name correct.
DeleteThanks for dropping by!
~Mary
I really enjoyed listening to both versions. I vote for Chris Stapleton!
ReplyDeleteHey there Shabby Chic!
DeleteSo glad that these were enjoyable to you. Chris says 'Thank you' for keeping him in this battle - your vote just evened up the score (for now) Thanks for stopping in to vote!
~Mary
This is my first time hearing these songs. Personally, I like contender #2. Thanks for sharing, I like finding new music.
ReplyDeleteHi Lavanda!
DeleteThanks for stopping by and casting a vote! Stay tuned for the results to be posted soon.
~Mary
Interesting post here. First time I am hearing this song but I like both versions of it.
ReplyDeleteDo pour yourself a jack and a coke, as I'm gonna vote for Whiskey Lane, he sounds awesome. I have not heard either of them before, but to be honest , enjoyed listening thoroughly!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jhilmil!
DeleteI'm glad that I could introduce you to something entertaining. Appreciate you stopping by.
~Mary
I’ve never heard either of these versions but my vote if for whiskey Lane. He’s not bad to look at either lol
ReplyDeleteLOL Jessica!
DeleteIn the words of my good friend Stephen T McCarthy, several members of the band are extremely hot :)
Thanks for the vote!
~Mary
I enjoyed listening to the song and adding it to my playlist. Although I love both the versions, my vote goes for Whiskey Lane.
ReplyDeleteHey there Vasundhra!
DeleteI'm real glad that I helped you find something new for your playlist. Thanks for taking a moment to cast your vote.
~Mary
Wow!.. what an awesome song, cant believe i haven't heard this song before.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this song before. I loved both versions but liked whiskey lane little more for some reason. Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThank you Aashima!
DeleteI'll be posting results on Monday. Hope you can stop by to check it out.
~Mary
I love the second one. I love hearing the song they play.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI've got your vote counted. I'll be including the results in Monday's post. Be sure to check it out :)
~Mary
I never heard of the song before and I now I have to give it a shot, hubby is an American and I love finding good american songs! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is difficult as both of them as a great voice but i have first fallen in love with Chris Stapleton voice before i listened to Whiskey Lane version so am going with Chris stapleton. Although am hearing this son for the first time but i just cant get enough of it.. just cant stop listing to it.. great song.. amazing voice. My Vote goes to...Chris Stapleton
ReplyDeleteThank you, Oyibo!
DeleteAppreciate you coming back with a better comment.
~Mary
I'll have to vote for Chris Stapleton. Oh, Jack and Coke. That brings back memories. I can taste it in my mind. Heh... Like the cartoon! Be well, my dear.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Darla!
DeleteThis has been a really fun battle. Appreciate you stopping in to cast your vote.
~Mary
I love this song. And I love covers and comparing the two. But I'm gonna have to stick to Stapleton on this on. Hope that Jack and coke went down smooth. That was my go to back in the day.
ReplyDelete
