The Guest: Creative Blog Mom

Welcome to "The Guest"
Jingle Jangle Jungle’s Guest Blogger Series

I'm really excited to share with you today's guest. Libby comes to us by way of Google.

I have booked some really AWESOME bloggers (and non-bloggers as well), from all over the internet, and I just can’t wait for you to “meet” them all. Each and every Sunday, you will find a new Guest here. Thank you for stopping by today to join us for this week’s "The Guest".

The Bio: I am a work from home mom of a beautiful 3 year old girl, Emma Grace. I love blogging, writing, creating, and sharing. I am working to make it productive and profitable. I am a retired dance educator, which has given me a unique perspective on motherhood. At times, I use my educational strategies with my daughter, but most of the time I am stumped and I’m learning. My husband, Jeff, is a regional sales rep for the MAPEI Corporation. He loves his job, does very well, and provides for our family. We love him for that. I run my own (very) small business, Oh BaBee! Originals. I design, create, and sell baby shower and nursery decor, frames, wreaths, and greeting cards. I mostly sell to fellow moms in my community. I am an active member in our community moms group, The Real Housemoms of Nocatee. I plan and host events, offer giveaways from my business, and serve as a resource for new members. As I continue to focus mainly on my sweet Emma, I am looking forward to using my talents to network, share, learn, and grow as a writer and creator. In February of 2015, I was hired as a freelance writer for two community magazines published by N2 Publishing. I couldn’t be more thrilled!

Thank You For The Music

By Libby Blumberg
Creative Blog Mom

There is never a shortage of music and dancing in our house. It’s in our genes. My father and brother are musicians. I was a dancer and singer. My husband is a dancer who won’t admit it. He’s got about five signature moves that he whips out when the time is right. We’ve got it coming from all sides and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
My three year old daughter, Emma, never ceases to amaze me with her ability to use her imagination with song and dance. She can make up songs and carry a pretty good tune. She memorizes lyrics and easily recalls songs she learns in school. Her dance moves are like no other. You won’t see her doing the typical toddler moves. I call her my interpretive dancer. She gets lost in the music and escapes into her own world of pure joy.
It’s really no surprise. I literally can’t be still when I hear music. And even when there is no music playing, a tune is usually in my head and makes me want to move. Emma obviously inherited this trait and enjoys every minute of it.
This really makes me proud. I’m glad she is a free spirit. We aren’t the most scheduled, routine-driven, rule-following family in town. We are, what I like to call, ‘flexible’. It makes me happy to see Emma with the confidence to let loose and feel good about it. It warms my heart that music and movement are such an important part of her soul.
If there is nothing else I ever do for my daughter, I will be sure to foster this love for music and movement throughout her young life. Who knows if she will pursue it with classes or lessons?  I don’t care if she becomes a dancer or singer like me. All I want is a lifelong love for music, dance, and any of the other beautiful things that make this world go around.

This phrase from ABBA’s “Thank You for the Music” says it best:
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music,
For giving it to me.
As much as I have given the music to Emma, she has returned it to me in a much bigger way!
