Sounds from the UK: Kaiser Chiefs
Let it never be said that the romance is dead
'Cause there's so little else occupying my head
There is nothing I need except the function to breathe
But I'm not really fussed, doesn't matter to me
Due to lack of interest, tomorrow is canceled
Let the clocks be reset and the pendulums held
'Cause there's nothing at all except the space in between
Finding out what you're called and repeating your name
Could it be, could it be that you're joking with me
And you don't really see you with me?
Could it be, could it be that you're joking with me
And you don't really see you with me?
Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby
Aha-aha-aaa
Do ya, do ya, do ya, do ya
Aha-aha-aaa
Know what ya doing, doing to me?
Aha-aha-aaa
Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby
Aha-aha-aaa-aaa
"Ruby" is a song by English rock band Kaiser Chiefs and is the lead track on their second album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob. It became the band's first ever #1 single on 25 February 2007 and ended 2007 as the year's 10th biggest-selling single in the UK.
Kaiser Chiefs formed in 2000 as Parva, releasing one studio album, 22, in 2003, before renaming and establishing themselves in their current name that same year. Since their formation the band consists of lead vocalist Ricky Wilson, guitarist Andrew "Whitey" White, bassist Simon Rix, keyboardist Nick "Peanut" Baines and since 2013 drummer Vijay Mistry, who replaced founding drummer Nick Hodgson who left the band in late 2012.
Primarily inspired by new wave and punk rock music of the late 1970s and 1980s, the band have released five original studio albums: Employment (2005), Yours Truly, Angry Mob (2007), Off with Their Heads (2008), The Future Is Medieval (2011) and Education, Education, Education & War (2014), one EP Lap of Honour (2005), one compilation album Souvenir: The Singles 2004–2012 (2012) and numerous singles.
