Rocktober 21, 2014 Stone Temple Pilots

 "Does anybody really know how the story goes, or do we all just hum along?"

I cant just talk about Red Hot Chili Peppers (see archives), and not mention Stone Temple Pilots. I guess this mostly due to the fact that when I saw RHCP in concert in 2000, STP opened for them. So in my mind, the two bands go hand in hand.

Stone Temple Pilots (often abbreviated STP) is an American rock band from San Diego, California, that currently consists of brothers Robert (bass, backing vocals) and Dean DeLeo (guitar), Eric Kretz (drums, percussion), and Chester Bennington (lead vocals). Since its formation, STP's line-up had remained unchanged until the dismissal of lead vocalist Scott Weiland in 2013, who was replaced with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.

The band formed in 1985, under the name Mighty Joe Young, but when they signed with Atlantic Records, they changed their name to Stone Temple Pilots. They have been fairly successful in their own right.
